Learn the history of Pachappa Camp, the first Koreatown in the United States.

Dr. Edward Chang, Professor of Ethnic Studies and founding director of the Young Oak Kim Center for Korean American Studies at UC Riverside, will discuss the history of Pachappa Camp, the first organized settlement for Koreans in the United States. Founded in 1905 in Riverside, the community of mostly agricultural workers flourished for several years.

The free illustrated lecture will be held on the grounds of the historic Lanterman House. It is sponsored by the Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley and the Lanterman House.
